Short Biography | I trained as a geographer and ecologist so I have absolutely no formal background or training in computer science or computer programming. I began programming in 2007 to automate basic software tasks in proprietary software, but having discovered the potential of programming I now only use open-source software for geographic data analysis and mapping to create accessible, reproducible, and scalable scientific research. I have gone as far as creating and publishing my own Python package, called NLMpy (https://pypi.python.org/pypi/nlmpy), and this would represent the height of my programming skills and experience. |
