Interests

Interested in supporting most aspects of reproducible and ideally open research mainly from a library services point of view. Always interested in exploring the benefit of collaborations.

Short Biography

I am the Finance and Fellowship Manager at OLS (formerly Open Life Science) [part-time] and independent consultant (currently as SSI's CW24 Chair and Programme Lead). Previously, I worked Research Data Specialist working at the Digital Curation Centre at the University of Edinburgh working on the FAIRsFAIR project aiming at fostering Fair Data Practices in Europe and being the product manager for DMPonline. Before joining the DCC, I was the Research Repository Advisor at the University of Birmingham and have previously worked as a data librarian at CERN’s Scientific Information Service working closely with software developers to deliver data and code sharing solutions. As part of my role I provided training and advice on research data management and Open Research including sharing and licensing code. I also managed the University's institutional repositories aiming to provide smooth services to share research outputs. I am a collaborator on the Turing Way project creating a handbook openly developed on GitHub to support reproducible data science as well as building a community to support the resource with expertise in the long term. I am also an Open Life Science mentor. As part of my fellowship, I ran a workshops teaching git and GitHub to librarians in a friendly way to highlight that good software practices are relevant to librarians and the services they provide. I also was part of the hidden REF committee and supported the coding confessions panel at SeptembRSE 2021 with my fellowship.
