Short Biography |
I work as a Senior Software Scientist at Diamond Light Source the UK national Synchrotron Facility. My role is primarily to provide the users of Diamond with the appropriate software and computational support to make the most of their experimental time. This ranges from software installation and user training, through to development of new software and software pipelines to deal with the Terabytes of data collected on a daily basis. My research is focused mainly around making these processes as user friendly, fast and automatic as is possible, whilst still maintaining the required level of scientific rigor. Part of this requires me to coordinate the efforts of some of the PDRA and PhD students who are working in my area of Imaging at Diamond to make sure that they produce software which can be integrated with our systems, and is also maintainable and usable. |
